Here are all the details you should include in your final post.

1. What do you think were your top 3 posts? Were these the most interesting? The most fun? The most creative? The most well-written?

*Describe which ones they were and put a link to them or add images from those posts to this new one.

2. Which 3 blogs from your classmates did you think was the most creative or fun to visit?
Name them, write why, and post the links to their blogs under this number.

3. We added memes, quotes, gifs, videos, avatars, and sidebar gadgets to our blogs. Which one did you like making the most? Why? Describe and add an image to fit your choice.

4. What is a post that we should have done but didn't? Describe.

Tutorial Wednesday

Hi folks!
On one of our last days, I thought it would be great to do a final tutorial post that is very similar to the "How-To" post that we began with WEEKS ago as this class was just starting out. This time, I would be very curious to see which one of these options you'd choose to do for your tutorial today.

Option #1
Make a tutorial that includes 6 steps about how to do something related to your topic that you haven't written about before. Images should be included with each step and a description and one video if you can one that fits well.

Option #2
Make a tutorial that includes 6 steps about how to maintain a blog and be creative with it. Imagine that someone else might take this class in the future. What steps would you tell them to follow to make their blog or experience a good one? Include images and descriptions, but you don't need a video. A gif or meme would be fun!

Can't wait to see what you pick!

Post of Choice & Voting

Hello!
This is our last week for blogging, and it is a short one! I always do awards for blogs, so here is the plan for the week:

Today - Do one last post of your choice related to your blog topic. It can include whatever you want to write about and be at least 10 sentences long with some images or videos to highlight your topic.

You will also receive a ballot to vote on for the blog awards. To do this, you will need to visit our class blogs and vote for people in different categories. Turn this in to me today or tomorrow.

Wednesday - you will have to check the blog for a final post to do.

Thursday - I will give out the blog awards, and we will make some decisions about leaving our blogs up or having them go dark.

Friday - We will do a final review/reflection on the class (It's a half day!).

Powerful Quote Post

Hello!
I just have to say that your memes from yesterday are hilarious. I read through as many as I could an commented on several of your posts. I hope figuring out how to download and save them to the blogs wasn't too difficult. Thanks for doing such a great job on them!

Today you are doing some more creating with images and writing. There is a great site called PABLO that allows you to pick images and add meaningful quotes or thoughts to them in a simple, free way....just like the image you see here------------------>

Your task for the day:

1. Find a quote that holds meaning for you - if it relates to your blog topic - Great! It doesn't have to though.

Sites to use for quotes:
Goodreadsquotes
brainyquotes
motivationquotes

2. Use PABLO site to find a picture you like that fits your quote and create an image with the quote. Download and save it to your computer, and then upload it to your blog.

3. Write 10-15 sentences about:

What does the quote mean to you?
How does it apply to your life?
Describe a situation in your life that it helps you think about.
Who is someone else in your life that this quote could apply to or that it reminds you of? Why?
What does remind people to do or remember?
If you had to rephrase it into your own words, how would you do it?

I hope they come out looking awesome!
Happy Friday!

Making Memes Post for Thursday

You have all seen memes...they are prevalent throughout our culture and often poke fun at social behavior or thoughts people have about a variety of issues. Check these out:

Image result for funny kid memesToday you are going to make 3 memes to add to your blog. It would be the best if they relate to your blog topic. Try to make at least 3 and then explain how the process went for you in your post in 5-10 sentences. Have fun with them!

These sites will help you create them. Try one or all!

Imageflip is easy to use. It has a lot of images to pick from or you can upload your own.
Kapwing also works and seems easy.
Make a Meme is the one I've used most often. It's also worth a try.

You will have to save what you create and then upload them to your blog as images. Be creative!
After you load them on, explain how the process went in 5-10 sentences. Thanks!

Professional Blog Visits

Here are the links you need to visit and evaluate the professional bloggers on the form given in class:

1. Sparktoro
2. Tim Ferris
3. Betty Rocker
4. Poppyloves

#5 - You pick your own!

When you finish, make sure you are caught up on your other posts. Reading through them yesterday, I could see folks were missing some or weren't writing very much!

Thanks!

Personal Post Choice - Pick a different topic for a day!

Hello!
You have been doing so well writing on all the various themes I've given you that I thought I would give you the option today to write about something COMPLETELY different than what you normally do. So, today you can opt to write about something ELSE...maybe a show or movie that you are obsessed with right now, or something in the news that is bothering you...or how work has been going. You decide!
Image result for new day
For this post, the items you need to have are the following:

Topic heading with description of what you are focusing on for the day.

10-15 sentences about your new topic of the day.
1 image or video
Add a new widget to your  blog for fun...remember those!?

Have a great day!

Money- money-money Post!

Hello! Happy Monday!
Today, you need to complete your checklist from last week and turn it in.

Image result for money
Also, for today's post, I need you to think about MONEY and a post related to your blog that you could write about. Here are some ideas:

*How to plan a fishing trip on a budget...
*The costs of traveling to Costa Rica with a budget of all aspects of the trip (car, hotel, flight, etc...)
*Cooking for the week on a budget... OR Cooking a specific fancy meal - costs?
*The costs and types of getting the best sporting equipment for lacrosse, soccer, basketball, etc...

For this post, include pictures and cost descriptions for each item you write about. Try to write about 5 different items in the post with images and a few sentences each. This should be informative and give the reader a sense of what they should or shouldn't spend their money on.

Thanks! Have a good day!

Fun Friday Post

Hello!
Sorry I will miss you today, but I do have a few different avenues you will be pursuing using my website as the home base.

Image result for blog comments
Tasks for today:
#1 - It's time to visit some of your neighbors blogs! They have come a long way and deserve some love! What I would like you to do is to visit the 10 blogs that come after yours and offer comments on at least 2 of their posts. Comments should be 1-2 sentences each telling them what you like the most or what their post reminds you of from your own life, or what else you would like to see them write about. Be creative and kind with these!

#2 - After you finish visiting blogs and commenting, add a post to your blog called the PROFILE POST. Here is what you do:

1. Find an image of a person you admire who links topically to your blog. This could be a famous person in the field, someone you know, or a public figure who has caught your interest. (Pick someone different than who you presented on if you did a person.)

Insert a picture of them at the top of your post.

Write a post that include a "profile" or them with at least 10 items. Some questions to consider answering would be:
What are they famous for? Where were they born and where do they live now? What is their family situation? What is the craziest or most impressive thing they've done that you can find? What are 3 things they've done in their past that people would be impressed by. What is something they've done that they might regret? What piece of advice or famous quote might they have? Explain their link to your blog.

Insert a video of them in action or giving an interview of something of this nature.

Thank you! Have a good weekend!

Thursday Post - Recent Event

Greetings!
For today, you get to jump back on your blog and write a post about an event related to your blog that has happened recently that you find interesting and can tell your audience about.

Image result for event
Here is what should be included in this post:

Name of Event with 2-3 images (Events could be things like concerts, travel tours, cook-offs, competitions, etc...)

Setting of where and when the event took place. Does it happen every year? How often?

Summary of what happened during the event (5-10 sentences) Things to consider:
Who is involved? Why does it take place where it does? Who is most likely to go? What is unique about it? How many go? Is there a cost? Is the cost worth it? What happens over the course of the event? What would people get out of going to such an event? Etc....

Your thoughts about it and commentary about what happened. (5 sentences)

Recommendation: Should people go? Is it worth the time, travel, cost, effort? Etc...

That's it! Happy Thursday!

Finish Presentations and add a Resolution Post

So today, you have 2 tasks:

First, make sure you are ready to present for tomorrow. When you (and your partner) are finished with making your presentation, please share it with me via Outlook by typing my name: Jennifer Christoffersen and hitting the share button.  Make sure you talk about who is introducing the powerpoint and going over each slide so that when you present tomorrow or Wednesday, there is no confusion. WE WILL MEET IN MY CLASSROOM TOMORROW!

Second, create a new post on your blog that does the following:
Title: New Year's Resolutions
Post: What are 5 resolutions you would like to try and stick to for the year? Post the list with some descriptions of what you can do with an image to accompany each one.

Blogging Presentations

Hello!
Today we are doing something different - preparing for a class presentation. The handout detailing how to do the presentation will be given out in class today, and you will have time to work on it today and Monday. Basically, you choose a famous person/group/event that relates to your blog and explain what makes them unique/famous.

Here is a link to a completed presentation from last year about a famous Youtube dessert chef that a student who had a cooking blog focused on for her presentation. Notice how neat and vivid her notes and images are for each slide. Try to do the same for yours!

You will have a total of 6 slides or more:
1. Title slide
2. Background slide
3. Why you picked them and how they relate to your blog slide.
4. Video clip slide of them in action.
5. 3 fascinating facts about them slide
6. Conclusion slide - your choice of what goes on it!

Happy New Year Hometown Post

Image result for cold spring mn

Hello! I hope your break was fun and relaxing! For today's post, you are going to share some things you love about your hometown and connect it to your blog topic.

Related image

The post should include 2-3 pictures or a video that relate interspersed with written text adding up to 15 sentences. Here are some examples of how to do this:

If you have a cooking blog - write about the special foods that are related to this area...tater-tot hot dish anyone? You could write about the best dessert bars or any other special foodie recipes from here as well. Try to write about the restaurants in your hometown and what they are known for too.

If you have a travel blog -write about what people should travel here to see. What are the festivals we host? What are the scenic views one should take in? Where should one stay? Come up with a few places one should visit around here and write enticingly so that anyone would want to visit.
Image result for cold spring mn

If you have a fishing/sporting blog - write about who the best teams are to watch around here in all seasons. What are the "can't miss" arenas or games to take in if one was visiting? What stores sell the best equipment? What lakes or rivers can't be missed? What are the hidden gems around here that only locals know about?

If you have a rather unique blog, like video games, running, gas stations, etc....think about what you would tell a visitor coming to the area about your topic. What direction would you point them in to find good stores, trails, etc... Write about your own personal experience living here. What makes your hometown a special place?
